Product Description

The SR-034-TP is a 0.034 inch (0.86mm) tin-plated semi-rigid coaxial cable engineered for applications where environmental resistance is as critical as electrical performance. This UT-034-TP alternative cable shares the same core construction as our standard SR-034—including the SCCS center conductor and PTFE dielectric—but features a seamless copper tube outer conductor with a tin plated finish. The tin plating provides superior corrosion resistance in marine, coastal, and high humidity environments where bare copper would oxidize and degrade over time. The silver plated copper clad steel (SCCS) center conductor delivers mechanical strength for permanent forming while maintaining excellent conductivity. With 155 GHz higher order mode cutoff frequency and 2100V voltage withstanding, this microwave cable supports demanding applications through 90 GHz. Operating temperature ranges from -55°C to +125°C with full RoHS compliance.

FAQ
Q: What are the advantages of tin plated outer conductor over bare copper?
A: Tin plating provides superior corrosion resistance in marine, coastal, and high humidity environments. It protects against salt spray oxidation and extends service life by 3-5x compared to bare copper while maintaining excellent solderability.
Q: What type of center conductor does this semi-rigid coax cable use?
A: Silver plated copper clad steel (SCCS), providing mechanical strength for permanent forming while maintaining excellent conductivity.
Q: What is the higher order mode cutoff frequency?
A: 155 GHz, ensuring clean signal propagation through 90 GHz operation with substantial margin.
Q: What is the voltage rating?
A: 2100V RMS at 60 Hz, suitable for high power RF applications.
Q: What is the impedance tolerance?
A: ±1.5 Ohm, tighter than standard semi-rigid coax cables for precision applications.
Q: What is the minimum bend radius?
A: 0.127 mm (0.050 inches) for static installation.
Q: What connector options are available?
A: Bare ends for direct soldering, SMA for applications below 26 GHz, 2.92mm for 40 GHz systems, and custom connectors available.
Q: Is this cable suitable for outdoor marine applications?
A: Yes. The tin plated outer conductor provides excellent corrosion resistance for coastal, shipboard, and high humidity environments.
Q: How does tin plating compare to silver plating for corrosion resistance?
A: Tin plating offers superior corrosion resistance in salt spray environments, while silver plating provides the lowest surface conductivity for minimal insertion loss. Choose SR-034-TP for marine applications and SR-034-SP for aerospace/high frequency performance.
