RG316D 50 Ohm Coaxial Cable Double Shielded MIL-DTL-17 Compliant Cable with FEP Jacket
Product Description

RG316D M17/113-RG316D is a MIL-DTL-17 qualified 50 Ohm coaxial cable featuring double silver-plated copper braid shielding for enhanced EMI protection compared to standard RG316. This low loss RF cable utilizes a 7/0.17mm silver-plated copper-clad steel (SCCS) stranded conductor and PTFE dielectric, delivering reliable signal transmission up to 3 GHz with 96.5 pF/m capacitance and 70% velocity of propagation. The double silver-plated copper braid provides superior shielding effectiveness in electrically noisy environments, while the FEP outer jacket at 2.9mm offers excellent chemical resistance, UV stability, and thermal performance from -55°C to +200°C. With 1200V RMS operating voltage and NSN assigned for government procurement, RG316D is the preferred choice for  telecommunications infrastructure, radar systems, and defense electronics where signal integrity and interference rejection are critical.

Key Features
  • Double silver-plated copper braid shielding (>90% coverage)
  • PTFE dielectric and FEP jacket rated from -55°C to +200°C
  • Stranded silver-plated copper clad steel conductor for flexibility
  • MIL-DTL-17 compliant for mission-critical applications
  • Same dimensions as RG316 – fits all standard connectors

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between RG316 and RG316D?
A: RG316D features double silver-plated copper braid shielding (two layers) while standard RG316 has single shielding. This provides superior EMI/RFI protection for applications in electrically noisy environments.

Q: What is the M17 part number for RG316D?
A: M17/113-RG316D is the official MIL-DTL-17 part number, meeting MIL-C-17/113 specifications.

Q: What is the maximum frequency for RG316D?
A: RG316D operates efficiently from DC up to 6 GHz, making it suitable for VHF through C-band applications. Some manufacturers specify 3 GHz maximum operating frequency.

Q: What is the temperature range?
A: Continuous operation from -55°C to +200°C, enabled by PTFE dielectric and FEP jacket construction.

Q: What is the voltage rating?
A: 900V RMS to 1200V RMS maximum operating voltage.

Q: What type of conductor does RG316D use?
A: 7/0.17mm silver-plated copper-clad steel (SPCCS) stranded conductor with 7 strands of 0.17mm.

Q: What is the outer diameter?
A: 2.9mm to 2.93mm including FEP jacket.

Q: What is the capacitance?
A: 96.5 pF/m with 70% velocity of propagation.

Q: What is the bend radius?
A: 15mm minimum for static installation.

Q: What connectors work with RG316D?
A: SMA, BNC, TNC, MCX, MMCX, and N-Type connectors designed for 2.9mm diameter 50 Ohm cables.

Q: Is RG316D suitable for outdoor use?
A: Yes, the FEP jacket provides UV resistance and weather protection for outdoor installations.

Q: What colors are available?
A: Brown is standard; custom color is also available.

Q: Do you offer custom lengths?
A: Yes, we are a RF coaxial cable manufacturer, RG316D is available in bulk spools, cut pieces, or fully assembled with connectors. MIL-DTL-17 compliance documentation provided with all shipments.
