Flexible AFR-E Sh E SPC 600V PTFE Instrumentation Cable 1 2 3 Cores Multi-Core Cable
Product Description

The AFR-E Sh E SPC series is a high temperature PTFE instrumentation cable featuring served wire shield construction with silver plated copper conductor. Designed for applications requiring flexibility, thermal stability, and reliable EMI protection, this multi-core shielded cable serves test fixtures, avionics harnesses, downhole logging tools, and industrial instrumentation.

The conductor uses extra flexible stranded electrolytic silver plated annealed copper, providing excellent conductivity and flex life for repeated handling. Insulation and jacket are constructed from wrapped and sintered PTFE tape, enabling continuous operation at elevated temperatures while maintaining chemical resistance and low smoke properties.

The served wire shield (spiral shield) provides effective EMI protection while maintaining cable flexibility. Unlike braided shields that stiffen the assembly, spiral shield cables are the most flexible shielded cable type, ideal for applications requiring repeated bending or tight routing.

Available in 1-core, 2-core, 3-core configurations with custom multi-core options available. PTFE wrapped construction ensures reliable performance in high heat environments where standard PVC or polyethylene cables would fail.

Key Features
  • Served spiral shield – Provides effective EMI protection while maintaining cable flexibility; easy to unwind and terminate; ideal for applications requiring repeated bending or tight routing

  • Extra flexible stranded conductor – Electrolytic silver plated annealed copper construction for excellent conductivity, flex life, and corrosion resistance

  • PTFE wrapped and sintered insulation – High temperature rating with excellent chemical resistance, low smoke, and stable electrical properties; withstands extreme environments

  • Multi-core configurations – Available in 1, 2, 3 cores as standard; custom core counts available upon request

  • Silver plated throughout – Conductor strands and served shield wire are electrolytic silver plated, providing superior conductivity, reduced skin effect at high frequencies, and corrosion resistance

  • Wrapped PTFE jacket – Provides additional mechanical protection and thermal stability for multi-core assemblies

  • High temperature rating – Suitable for continuous operation in elevated temperature environments up to 200°C

Applications

Aerospace & Avionics – Flight test instrumentation and onboard harnesses where PTFE insulation withstands altitude extremes and served shield flexes for tight routing behind aircraft panels.

Defense & Field Diagnostics – Deployable test equipment and tactical shelters where spiral shield provides EMI protection without braided cable stiffness, coiling easily for transport.

Automotive Test Cells – Engine and transmission dyno environments exposing cabling to oil mist, heat, and repeated connection cycles; extra flexible strands resist fatigue failure.

Medical Imaging – MRI adjacent patient monitoring and diagnostic systems requiring non-magnetic silver plated copper with PTFE insulation containing zero ferrous fillers.

Downhole Logging – High temperature, high pressure oil and gas tools where PTFE jacket resists drilling fluids and silver plated conductors prevent galvanic corrosion.

Industrial Automation – Drag chain installations and pick-and-place machines demanding millions of flex cycles from multi-core configurations delivering signal and power.

Semiconductor Test – ATE fixtures and probers where served shield survives thousands of touchdowns without work hardening or shielding degradation.

FAQ
Q: What does "served shield" or "spiral shield" mean?

A: Served shield (also called spiral shield) consists of wire strands wound helically around the insulated conductor in a single direction. Unlike braided shields which interlace strands, spiral shields offer superior flexibility and are the most flexible shielded cable type, ideal for applications requiring repeated bending.

Q: What is the temperature rating for this instrumentation cable?

A: PTFE wrapped and sintered construction provides continuous operation at high temperatures up to 200°C.

Q: What is the difference between E1, E2, and E3 configurations?

A: E1 indicates single core (one conductor plus shield). E2 indicates two cores (twisted pairs within a common shield). E3 indicates three cores. The number refers to the core count, not the conductor size.

Q: Can I get this cable with more than 3 cores?

A: Yes. We offer custom multi-core cables with PTFE outer jacket. Please contact us with your specific core count and gauge requirements.

Q: What is your MOQ for AFR-E Sh E SPC series?

A: Our standard MOQ is 1km for single core, twisted pairs, and twisted triples configurations. Custom multi core cables may require higher minimums. Contact our sales team for flexible options on large or small orders.

Q: Can I get a sample before placing a production order?

A: Yes. Samples are available upon request. A nominal fee may apply, which is fully deductible from your subsequent bulk order.

Q: What is the lead time for custom orders?

A: Custom multi cores cables typically require 10-15 working days after order confirmation and deposit.
